If you pre-ordered a Galaxy Fold smartphone through Best Buy, your order just got canceled.

As The Verge reports, a notice has appeared on the Best Buy support forums written by David, social media specialist at Best Buy, explaining what has happened.

According to the notice, "With breakthrough designs and technology come many hurdles and the possibility to face a plethora of unforeseen hiccups. These hurdles have led Samsung to postpone the release of the Galaxy Fold, and Samsung has not provided a new release date. Because we put our customers first and want to ensure they are taken care of in the best possible manner, Best Buy has decided to cancel all current pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Fold."

Rather than being able to pre-order Samsung's folding smartphone, you can now sign-up to be notified when Samsung shares more details with Best Buy as to availability. There's still every intention to sell the Galaxy Fold at Best Buy, but for now it's unknown when, or even if it will ever appear for sale.

As soon as a limited number of Galaxy Fold phones were released for media representatives to use there were a number of problems. Then iFixit got its hands on one and concluded the folding phone was "alarmingly fragile" and Samsung requested all review units be returned. Then earlier this month, Samsung admitted it couldn't confirm when the Galaxy Fold would ship.

Will we ever see the Galaxy Fold again?
