EternalMicrosoft

'I'm impatient with stupidity. My people have learned to live without it.'

Get It

Try It

Klaatu and Gort landed in Washington DC some seventy years ago. Before Bill Gates was born. Klaatu is impatient with stupidity, Gort has even less patience, and they certainly saw a lot on their visit, but they never could have imagined this.

C:\

Twenty years ago, ILOVEYOU hit. It was only a matter of time. Several factors were involved.

√ A love triangle
√ Ambitious programmers
√ People too fucking stupid to get off Windows

Mark Joseph Edwards estimated the damage to $5.5 billion. MJ was being kind.

ILOVEYOU was followed by AnnaK, Code Red, and literally hundreds of thousands of epidemics.

Microsoft Windows is a joke. Microsoft Corporation is a joke.

Now this. You thought things were quiet? That Microsoft somehow cleaned up their act?

How?

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/25/us/nsa-hacking-tool-baltimore.html

ILOVEYOU wasn't a gentle tapping on the door. It was a fucking battering ram. Did people wake up? What do you think?

Sure, some admins woke up. Or were already woke. But what do you do when your boss insists you're sticking with Windows? Do you institute draconian access routines? Such as filtering all Internet access? Requiring prior approval for use of removable media?

Some woke admins do that. They have to - their bosses are that stupid.

Bill Gates and Microsoft have got the world in such a spin - count how many times 'Microsoft' is named in the above article. Twelve. Twelve. Yet where's the blame put on Bill Gates and Microsoft?

If Bill Gates were to compensate every Windows user for the 'pain and suffering' (his words) he's caused, he'd be penniless. A Bowery bum asking for spare change. And he still wouldn't have paid his debt to society.

Bill spent an estimated $5 billion on spin, once the dark secret of Windows became known. $5 billion is chump change for the bastard.

You don't go putting ramshackle systems - which aren't real operating systems - on the fucking Internet. Period.

Could Bill have been out-competed? Linus was in Suomi working on a new Unix because his uni didn't want to pay for a source code licence. NeXT had disappeared into the bowels of Apple who were wasting precious years trying to make it more 'Mac-like'.

That's how the Microsoft disasters could have been prevented. But the disasters are exclusively and solely Copyright © Microsoft Corporation, All Rights Reserved.

EternalBlue is considered the biggest catastrophe ever. Dwarfs ILOVEYOU and all the rest. Perhaps combined.

Baltimore. Pennsylvania. Texas. Local governments. Hospitals. Airports. Rail and shipping operators. Cashpoints. Factories that produce critical vaccines. The UK healthcare system. German railroads. Some 200,000 (two hundred thousand) organisations around the world. FedEx, where damages were estimated at $400 million. Pharma giant Merck, where damages were estimated at $670 million. Airlines in the Middle East. Allentown. San Antonio. Dallas. Los Angeles. New York.

And Microsoft, who probably know lots about how far this thing has spread, are saying nothing. Gee now why is that?

Microsoft called for a 'Digital Geneva Convention'? How about a 'Digital Nuremberg Tribunal'?

Microsoft Windows should never have been allowed on the Internet. Bill Joy knew this over twenty years ago. So did lots of people. Bruce Schneier warned. The German government warned. The Chinese are trying to build their own alternative. Not a single security name on this planet will defend Microsoft Windows.

And none of this is new. All of this is common knowledge going back at least two decades, which, in computer science history, is a long long time.

Get the fuck off Windows. Do it yesterday. You're an accessory to the crime.
