Microsoft is taking some extra steps in releasing its Windows 10 May 2019 Update that including leveraging its Machine Learning algorithms to help proliferate the release.

As part of its new rollout plan, Microsoft’s Windows 10 May 2019 Update will scan PCs prior to notifying users of its availability to check for incompatible software or hardware configurations.

Users with incompatible software or hardware configurations will now be notified of their devices’ inability to install the May 2019 Update via a new section in the Windows Update prompt on PCs.

For most users, the Windows 10 May 2019 Update will show a ‘Download and Install Now’ as usual, but for a select few there will now be a new visual (obtained from Windows Latest) that will be accompanied by the following message:

The Windows 10 May 2019 Update is on its way. We’re offering this update to compatible devices, but your device isn’t ready for it. Once your device is ready, you’ll see the update available on this page. There’s nothing you need to do at this time.

Microsoft also provides a link for its support website for anyone looking more specifics about the error or how to address it.

While the new prompt does not help rectify the issue, it does offer a bit more transparency to Microsoft’s ever-evolving update process for Windows 10.
