Microsoft Flight Simulator will support third-party and community-made content

Microsoft recently announced the return of its long-running Flight Simulator series at this year's E3. Now, in a blog post, the team behind the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator has revealed some details regarding its release, including support for community-made content from the get-go.

Initially thanking fans for the immensely positive response to its announcement trailer, the team went on to commit to working with supporters in order to develop the title in the best manner possible. While it acknowledged that many questions have been raised following the return of the famed series, it only addressed what it regards as the important ones for the time being.

After reiterating that the game would be a simulator - a fact which apparently seems to have not been noticed by some, the development team stated that although it is indeed designed for PC, the title has been optimized for multi-platform support. More importantly, it has now been revealed that third-party content development and community-made content will be supported for the title. The team will also look to maintain a transparent relationship with the community and look towards its opinions with close regard. Furthermore, accessibility has been noted as a key factor, with assurances that all fans will be catered for, despite their different preferences in gaming gear and accessories.

Currently, Microsoft plans to unveil the development roadmap for Microsoft Flight Simulator in early August. The timeline for updates to the preview builds will be communicated more clearly in the coming weeks.
