How to fix your Apple Watch not tracking Workout and Activity correctly

Apple Watch helps you track your Workouts and Activity goals like Move, Stand, and Exercise times for the current day and over time. But nothing is perfect, and you might run into problems with your activities being recorded inaccurately.

For instance, you completed a 45-minute workout, but your Apple Watch recorded only 10 minutes of it. Here are two ways to fix your Apple Watch not registering Workout and Exercise activities correctly.

Have Apple Watch register Workouts correctly

Besides restarting your Apple Watch and making sure that it’s running the latest version of watchOS, there are two effective solutions to get your Exercise activity readings back on track.

1. Reset the Fitness Calibration Data

When you first get your Apple Watch, it’s recommended that you calibrate it for more accurate workout and exercise activities. But if you’re receiving incorrect Activity readings, you can reset the fitness calibration data:

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Select My Watch at the bottom and tap Privacy.
  3. Tap Reset Fitness Calibration Data and confirm the action.

2. Unpair, reset, and re-pair your Apple Watch

Although not an ideal solution, you can unpair, reset, and then re-pair your Apple Watch to your iPhone. If you go this route, make sure that you set up your Apple Watch as new and not from a backup. Check out our tutorials if you need help going through this process:

Hopefully, one of these solutions will fix the problem with your Apple Watch not recording your exercise activities correctly.
