Privacy is one of Apple’s biggest selling points — and it’s continuing the push with a series of billboards in Canada.

Images of the billboards were posted on Twitter by CBC Toronto‘s Matt Elliot and one time-tech journalist Josh McConnell. One billboard in Toronto reads, “We’re in the business of staying out of yours.” Another, also in Toronto, facing King Street West, reads “Privacy is King.”

Both billboards include the slogan “Privacy. That’s iPhone.” This appears in smaller letters under the main copy line.

The consumer privacy focused billboards continue a campaign that Apple launched ahead of CES 2019 in Las Vegas earlier this year. Like the “Privacy is King” ad, referring to King Street, the Vegas billboards was highly localized. “What happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone,” it said.

It refers to the well-known Vegas phrase, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

Apple is all about privacy

Privacy has been a big focus of Apple’s, particularly under the leadership of Tim Cook. Cook has previously taken issue with tech giants which gobble up user data.

Apple has introduced numerous initiatives to promote privacy. These have included the likes of Apple’s new “Sign in with Apple” feature, introduced at WWDC. It also makes it easy for users to download all the data that Apple keeps on them.

Things haven’t always been plain-sailing, however. Earlier this year, Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote an op-ed in the New York Times, blasting tech giants which sell privacy as a “luxury good.” There has also been concern that the Trump administration could move to block end-to-end encryption.
