July 8 (SeeNews) - Global tech company IBM has appointed Johannes Maurer as its new general manager for Southeast Europe (SEE), the company said on Monday.
In his new role, Maurer will be responsible for all business activities and leadership of IBM in SEE, the company said in a statement.
He will continue the strategy already underway, drive local business ecosystems on their digital transformation journey, and help shape market opportunities by capitalising on partnerships leveraging disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, IoT, blockchain and security, it added.
Maurer succeeds Michael Paier, who has been appointed Vice President Enterprise and Commercial, IBM Central and Eastern Europe.
Prior to this new role, Johannes Maurer was a sales leader for the industrial market in Germany. He has a broad sales track-record at IBM, coupled with extensive business and IT transformation experience, contributing to his success working with large enterprises, and helping to develop a strong client-centric reputation amongst customers, colleagues, senior management, and partners, the company noted.
