Oracle streamlines startup recruitment program

Oracle is rolling out an updated recruitment program to woo startups, letting interested participants sign up online without having to undergo a complicated application process.

Dubbed Oracle for Startups, the vendor is offering free cloud credits and software discounts, as well as online mentoring resources and migration assistance, to startups of any size and stage worldwide.

Startups can sign up through the Oracle for Startups page without having to submit an application and admit a cohort of select startups for an onsite program.

Oracle for Startups vice president Jason Williamson said enrolled startups will get access to a members-only portal, featuring “detailed descriptions about the program’s services, hands-on development labs, and other how-to assistance for migrating an existing instance or spinning up new ones”.

The program will also allow Oracle to reallocate resources by closing onsite coworking spaces, like expanding Oracle Cloud credits and offering service discounts.

Participating startups can also access other services like marketing resources and opportunities to attend Oracle’s global conferences and partner events.

In June, Oracle founder Larry Ellison teased a new program for independent software vendors, giving them free services to entice them to use the vendor's database and cloud platforms.
