GRIS Is Going Mobile Later This Month
iPhone and iPad users can currently pre-order GRIS for $4.99 before it launches on the App Store on August 22nd. The artsy puzzle-platformer launched last December for the PC, Mac, and Switch.
“Gris is a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience in her life,” read the game’s premise on the App Store. “Her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities to better navigate her faded reality. As the story unfolds, Gris will grow emotionally and see her world in a different way, revealing new paths to explore using her new abilities.”
If you’re considering buying this game then read our review of the Switch version before making your purchase. The reviewer praised the game for its storytelling but the platforming and puzzles weren’t as impressive.
“The platforming and puzzles are not as revolutionary, although some of them really threw me through a loop,” they wrote. “Abilities learned throughout the adventure help this heroine get through each challenge, from learning to swim to gliding through the air. One puzzle involving the ability to turn into a block and become heavy had me spellbound, the kind of solution where I had to sit and ponder before pressing on.”
