Microsoft Releases Two Windows 10 19H2 Builds, Again

For the second time, Microsoft has released two separate Windows 10 19H2 builds to the Insider Program’s Slow ring.

“Today we are releasing 19H2 build 18362.10014 and build 18362.10015 to Windows Insiders in the Slow ring,” the Microsoft announcement notes. “We are testing the ability to ship these updates with features turned off by default so that we can then turn them on via controlled feature rollouts. This helps us gain better feedback on overall build quality. A subset of Insiders in the Slow ring will have features turned off by default, and another subset will have them turned on by default.”

Those who receive 9H2 build 18362.10012 will have new features disabled by default. Those who receive 9H2 build 18362.10013 will have new features enabled by default.

New features are all minor and include:

Windows Defender Credential Guard for ARM64 devices. This tool provides additional protection against credential theft for enterprises deploying ARM64 devices in their organizations, Microsoft says. So it impacts absolutely no enterprises.

All desktop applications in S mode via Intune. In a further step back from S mode, Microsoft is enabling enterprises to supplement the Windows 10 in S Mode policy to allow traditional desktop applications apps from Microsoft Intune.

Windows Search in File Explorer. The search box in File Explorer is being updated to be powered by Windows Search. “This change will help integrate your OneDrive content online with the traditional indexed results, Microsoft notes.

Narrator improvements. Narrator and other assistive technologies can read and learn where the Fn key is located on keyboards and whether it is locked or unlocked.

Not certain how I feel about windows search replacing Microsoft search in file explorer.

i really just want file search results when in file explorer. Can’t say I am excited about seeing web results in that interface.

However I do understand why they want to go that route. OneDrive with placeholders needs indexed and to be available for query
