The other day, Apple posted on YouTube a new ad that it is playing in the South Korean market only. Attempting to promote the wireless charging case available for the AirPods wireless Bluetooth earbuds, the ad shows how users have customized their cases to make them look interesting. We should mention that Apple itself doesn't offer these customized cases or any of the skins used to decorate them. Those can be found on sites like Amazon.

Apple will sell you the wireless charging case for the AirPods in plain white for $79. Or, you can purchase the case along with the AirPods for $199. While we can't say for sure how the customizations impact the wireless charging capabilities of the container, they certainly brighten up what otherwise is an ordinary-looking white case that looks as though it should contain dental floss.

If Apple adds a reverse wireless charging feature to the upcoming 2019 iPhones as expected, those with the AirPods wireless charging case will be able to use the battery inside their new iOS-powered handset to power up the AirPods. The latter will run for five hours on a single charge (three hours of talk time) and the case carries multiple charges allowing for over 24 hours of use. Putting the AirPods back in the case for 15 minutes will provide enough power for users to listen to their favorite tunes for another three hours (two hours of talk time).

The third-generation of the AirPods will eventually be unveiled by Apple. Expected to be positioned as a premium version of the accessory and priced accordingly, the new AirPods could be water-resistant, feature noise cancellation and improved battery life.
