iPhone 11 Interest High Due to New Colors, Aggressive Pricing & More

Shortly after iPhone 11 preorders went live in the U.S., it didn’t take long for demand predictions to come through. Apparently, despite the three models unveiled by Apple lacking 5G connectivity, a report has come froth stating that interest could be higher than expected as Apple has introduced a wave of new color options for the masses, as well as an aggressive starting price that’s lower than what the iPhone XR from last year cost at launch.

iPhone 11 Pro in Midnight Green and Two Finishes of iPhone 11 Could See Higher Sales in the Future

According to a fresh prediction from Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 11 Pro in Midnight Green and the iPhone 11 in the green and purple finishes are expected to see a spike in demand. However, while he appears positive, he does state that production issues with the glass for the Midnight Green version could result in lower availability of this particular variant, which will naturally result in disgruntled customers. Additionally, Kuo believes that the iPhone 11 Pro demand in the U.S. is higher, while in China, customers will be more attracted to the iPhone 11.

The cheaper model’s starting price of $699 is $50 cheaper than the base price of the iPhone XR back in 2018, and since newer version arrives with better internal specifications, an improved camera and more, it should be a more popular pick for customers in various markets. The latest prediction from Kuo has also lead to an increase in estimated shipments for this year. Previously, Apple’s iPhone 11 series was earlier reported to sell around 65-70 million units for 2019, and that figure has risen to 70-75 million units.

It’s also not surprising that Apple’s trade-in program will help increase sales but the lack of 5G support might still be a concern for a lot of customers. No fret, because according to Kuo, in 2020, people who want to upgrade to the newer model are expected to see a design change, upgraded cameras, and of course support for 5G connectivity. Popularity of iPhones could also be stimulated thanks to the latest price cuts Apple introduced shortly after the end of its September 10 keynote.

If you recall, where the iPhone 11 starts at $699, the iPhone XR 2018 now starts at $599, while the iPhone 8 starts at $449 only. Now let us see if these swaths of changes help Apple generate more sales from its biggest revenue maker to date.
