Apple is one of the most sought-after public company in the world for tech workers to want a job with. That’s according to tech recruitment site Hired‘s latest “Brand Health Report.”

Given that Apple is, well, Apple, that’s not too much of a surprise. What’s more surprising is the fact that, on Hired‘s list of tech’s most inspiring leaders, Tim Cook is nowhere to be seen!

The list of inspiration leaders is as follows:

Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX
Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft
Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Facebook
Jack Ma, co-founder and former chairman of Alibaba
Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook
Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix
Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube
Marissa Mayer, former CEO of Yahoo
Anne Wojcicki, co-founder and CEO of 23andMe

Hired assembled the list by polling more than 3,600 tech workers across the U.S., United Kingdom, France and Canada. The survey was carried out between June and July this year.

When it comes to the top public tech companies people want to work for, Apple ranks third of five. The other positions are filled out by Google (at number one), Netflix (number two), LinkedIn (number four) and Microsoft (number five).

Tim Cook is a different sort of leader

Any list like this can, to an extent, be taken with a grain of salt. 3,600 tech workers is a tiny drop in the ocean when it comes to the total number of people in the industry. Apple alone employs some 74,000 people. But it is interesting that Cook wouldn’t feature on this list.

By comparison, Steve Jobs keeps showing up on lists of CEOs people want to work with — even approaching a decade after his death. To me, it says a lot about how Apple is, today, seen as being bigger than just one person. Cook may be a brilliant leader for Apple, but he doesn’t have the same cult of personality as his predecessor.

For Apple’s long-term health, maybe that’s a good thing…
