Mario Kart Tour comes with a bunch of hidden karts and characters that you’ll need to unlock as you play. But your chances of bagging the ones you really want are incredibly slim.

Nintendo has revealed the drop rates for a whole bunch of potential new items. And you’ll be sad to hear the majority have a 1% or lower appearance rate.

Mario Kart Tour is free to play. And you don’t really have to spend a penny if you don’t want to. The in-game currency, Rubies, can be collected simply by playing the game.

If you’re itching to unlock everything there is to unlock as quickly as possible, however, you can purchase additional Rubies. But it could cost you a lot to get the items you really want.

How Mario Kart Tour handles unlocks

Before we look at the drop rates of each item, you need to know how the unlocks work in Mario Kart Tour.

By now, if you’ve played the game, you will have seen that new content is shot out of the Pipe, which you can use after handing over some Rubies. Each Pipe contains 100 launches in total.

Players are guaranteed to receive time-sensitive “Spotlight” content within those 100 launches. But it’s also possible to receive duplicate items. If this happens, the skill level of the character, kart, or glider you already have will be increased.

Now you know that each Pipe offers 100 launches, here are your chances of bagging certain unlocks within each of those Pipes.
