New Default Font Preference in Mac Pages

A new release of Pages, version 8.2, includes a much-requested feature where you can set the default font for basic templates. This allows you to continue to use the Blank template in Pages, but with a font face and size set in preferences. The Body style will match your font and size, and other styles will use the font and a size of the appropriate scale to Body. Another new feature is a new View, Go To menu which is also in Keynote as Slide, Go To.

How do I use the "Insert" button in Pages tool bar? The Insert icon shows up in the text when I don't need it. Thanks for your help.

Don: What are you trying to insert? That button allows you to insert a number of different things. What icon shows up?

The image (I called it an icon) that shows up is the image that is on the insert button. I guess I'll continue to dismiss it, and type on as I have been doing, but I was hoping I could delete this extra step. Thanks again for your rapid response.

Don: It looks like a P with two vertical lines instead of one? That's the paragraph mark. ⁋
It will show up every line break if you have Show Invisible turned on in the View menu. Switch that off to hide invisible marks like that.
