AMD Radeon RX 5500 to Be Released This Quarter

The heavily discussed Radeon RX 5500 series of graphics cards will finally see a firmer release date. The RX 5500 series of cards will be introduced to both desktop and mobile markets this quarter.

There is still no official release date for these cards but there is some indication that we may see an official date be announced early next week.

What will we see?

We first saw some intriguing information late September that the RX 5500 cards may be coming sooner than we expected. This information came from a benchmark where the RX5500 had been spotted after having being benchmarked.

This card looks set to come up against Nvidia’s GTX 1650 graphics card and the reports, although still unconfirmed of course, that this card will offer up to 8GB of GDDR6 memory and 22 Compute units makes it appear to be a worthy contender.

The Radeon RX5500 looks to fill a gap in the market for AMD

With this GPU looking to slot into the lower-to-mid range lineup of AMD’s cards, this will be a good option for those with a lower budget in mind. Also, by further bolstering AMD’s lineup and possibly going up against Nvidia’s GeForce GTX counterparts, this card should come with some decent hardware to back it up.

How well do you think this card will perform on release? Do you believe the rumors that we may receive it before the end of this year? We hope so, but you can never truly tell until you hear confirmation from the horse’s mouth.

Keep checking back to find out any new information that lands about the upcoming Radeon RX 5500 card, we’ll keep you updated as and when we hear more.
