Download: watchOS 6.1 Final Released For Apple Watch Series 5 To Series 1

Apple has released watchOS 6.1 to the public after weeks of beta testing. This is also the first big update to watchOS 6 since its release in September.

If you’re using an Apple Watch compatible with the update – anything beyond the original Apple Watch is fine – you can kick this update off by opening the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and navigating to General > Software Update. Remember you’ll need to have at least 50% of battery life in your Apple Watch and it needs to be plugged in, too.

This update is one that is hopefully going to work its way through some of the bugs that users have been dealing with in recent updates, but Apple’s main focus appears to have been adding support for AirPods Pro. There is new support for Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 as well. Neither of those watches received watchOS 6.0.x updates.

watchOS 6.1 introduces support for ‌AirPods Pro‌ and includes improvements and bug fixes. This update also brings ‌watchOS 6‌ to ‌Apple Watch‌ Series 1 and Series 2.

Apple has also released watchOS 5.3.3 for the Apple Watches that don’t support watchOS 6 or are paired with iPhones that can’t install iOS 13. The iPhone update is also a requirement in order to install watchOS 6 on an Apple Watch.

Apple continues to release software updates at a rate of pace following a less than stellar beta program over the summer. Hopefully more fixes and stability will arrive in due course, too.
