Mario Kart Tour‘s world tour has so far taken players to New York, Tokyo and, err, Halloween. Now it’s headed to Paris, France for its next location.
Starting tomorrow, players logging into the game today should be able to access the Paris Tour course. In addition to landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and more, the Paris tour adds new characters as well.
These include Vacation Peach and Pastry Chef Shy Guy. While they’re not visible in the trailer, it’s likely that there will be a few other new introductions as well. You can check out Nintendo’s teaser trailer below.
Mario Kart Tour will take you to Paris and beyond
Mario Kart Tour landed in the App Store in late September. While I was a bit disappointed with the gameplay, it has proven to be a big hit. The game enjoyed the second-biggest mobile game launch month in history. (And Nintendo’s biggest.) Across both Android and iOS, it racked up 123.9 million unique downloads in its first four weeks.
To keep momentum going, Nintendo is rolling out new courses one tour at a time. Each tour consists of several courses, and also introduces new characters. These are either whole new characters (Luigi arrived with the Halloween update) or variations, such as Vacation Peach.
Along with new courses, the biggest Mario Kart Tour update is the upcoming multiplayer mode. This will roll out in December. However, it will be available to those who subscribe to the in-game Gold Pass, priced at $4.99 a month.
Mario Kart Tour is free-to-play. You can download it now from the App Store and Google Play
