Dell has found a new pair of eyes to help envision the future of Alienware and the direction it's headed. A larger Alienware presence in eSports, schools, and mainstream media seems likely for more widespread recognition of the brand.

It's been four months since Alienware co-founder Frank Azor parted ways with Dell to start anew at AMD. Finding someone to fill the void as Vice President of Alienware was never going to be easy, but Dell may have found just the right person in time for CES 2020.

Vivien Lien is a 17-year veteran in the gaming industry who, like the rest of us gamers, started out gaming purely as a hobby well before eSports had become the billion dollar industry it is today. In a Q&A on the official Alienware Academy website, Lien details how she loves the team-oriented gameplay of Counter-Strike and how the "gamification" of grade school curricula can aid in learning and creativity.

"“I am passionate about advancing technology and delighting gamers with experiences they didn’t know existed, “ said Vivian Lien, vice president of Alienware and Dell Gaming. “Alienware is the leader in PC gaming and it is an honor and an incredible responsibility to be given the opportunity to drive the brand forward and continue the legacy of never compromising and always testing the limits of technology.”"

The newest Alienware laptops at the moment are the 17.3-inch Area 51-m, 17.3-inch m17 R2, and the 15.6-inch m15 R2. It'll be interesting to see how Lien will shape the future of Alienware especially now that gaming is becoming increasingly cloud-based.
