Apple says it resolved outage that knocked out the App Store for some customers

Apple said it resolved the “weird errors” that prevented some customers Friday from completing purchases, updating apps or managing subscriptions inside the company’s App Store.

Several users reported App Store problems on Twitter, which Apple acknowledged on its “System Status” webpage.

It is unclear how widespread the issue was, and Apple didn't reveal what caused the snags.

One person told the “AppleInsider” site that he or she suspected a "system-wide outage" and spent more than 15 minutes trying to contact Apple support about the problem.

Apple's System Status page acknowledges an App Store issue.

The problems began surfacing around midmorning Friday, and the Downdetector website received a peak of 504 reports at 11:47 a.m.

The verified Apple Support Twitter account said, “We apologize for any inconvenience. An issue was identified with the App Store, and we are working to get this resolved.”

The Apple Support Twitter account directed people to a resource page about what to do when users can’t connect to the App Store, iTunes Store or other Apple services.

The company asked users on Twitter to report any further snags.
