iOS 13 dark modeWhen it comes to software updates, Apple has generally done a pretty good job at ensuring that as many devices as possible are compatible. If you have an older iOS device and you’re wondering if the upcoming iOS 14 update will be compatible with your device, you might be pleased to learn that there is a good chance that it will.

According to a report from French website iPhonesoft, they are alleging that all devices that are running on iOS 13 will be able to run on iOS 14. This is pretty good news for those who are hoping to keep their devices around for at least another year or so, although how optimized it will be for older devices remains unclear.

According to the report, the supported devices for iOS 14 includes the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the iPhone 8 Plus, the iPhone X, the iPhone XS and XS Max, and the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and the 11 Pro Max. It’s interesting that devices like the iPhone SE could still be supported, but like we said, it’s good news for those who aren’t quite willing to make the upgrade.

Take it with a grain of salt for now as nothing official has been confirmed, but Apple has been known to support devices for many years on end, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the list of supported devices turns out to be true (or partially true).
