‘Early Worm’ is a New Puzzler from Oddrok that’s Launching February 6th

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love Oddrok. They first popped up on my radar with the release of Power Hover back in 2015, a hoverboarding game with nuanced mechanics and a silky smooth style. Since then they’ve released six more titles covering all sorts of genres, but one thing they all have in common is that same sort of smooth style and a level of polish that you don’t always see in the mobile gaming space. Their latest title is no different. It’s called Early Worm and it’s a physics puzzler where you’ll be flinging a tiny worm around all sorts of crazy environments in an effort to collect the apple in each level. Every environmental element will react to the worm’s movements, so it’s up to you to figure out how to get your little worm to the apple based on whatever obstacles are before you. As with all Oddrok games, you can really see the high level of detail and the colorful but clean style in the trailer for Early Worm.

Again, I just love the tiny details in Early Worm, like how all the grass and plants gently sway when your worm whizzes by. There are a whopping 80 levels in the game, and I’m really interested to see the array of game mechanics spread across them. I already can spot things like sticky walls, bouncy mushrooms, and lots of object pushing using the physics engine, but what the heck was that weird black thing at the end of the trailer? All will be revealed soon, as Early Worm is set to release next week on February 6th for free with ads and a one-time $1.99 IAP to remove them, and until then you can chit chat about this one over in the game’s forum thread.
