OS 10.5.1 On The Way

Think Secret reports that Apple is readying OS X 10.5.1 (Leopard) for release.

Two builds have been released to third-party developers, has been given Apple's imprimatur with build 9B18, which Cupertino has deemed the release version.

It is expected that 10.5.1 will include bug fixes only, rather than any significant revisions to applications. Some Leopard early adopters reported blue screens of death and hangs, although Apple did not officially admit any major problems with Leopard. Some forums suggest that third-party hacks or add-ons might account for the BSOD problems.

However, Apple's pending release of 10.5.1 so quickly after Leopard's sales debut suggests there are some glitches in the system that require rapid fixes. For most, fortunately, installs have gone smoothly.
