WallMac is a PowerBook Turned Wall-Mounted Computer


In March we featured a laptop turned into a wall mounted PC. Inspired by that project, Lifehacker reader Dan Price turned an old PowerBook into a wall mounted Mac, the WallMac. Video inside.

Not only did Dan build an awesome wall mounted Mac but he was kind enough to put up a build guide and shoot us an email about it. The build guide has tons of photos showing how he prepped the frame and mounted the pieces including some ingenious tricks like using insulated speaker wire to mount the motherboard to the backing of the frame. He shopped carefully for a shadow box that would fit the components and he had the foresight to buy a hinged box with a magnetic clasp, allowing him to open the WallMac easily to access a hidden power switch and any internal components he needs to.
