Computer and printer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. tapped people for three high-level jobs.

Two men were promoted from within HP (NYSE: HPQ), while a third was hired from Palo Alto neighbor VMware Inc. (NYSE: VMW).

HP made Thomas Hogan executive vice president of sales, marketing and strategy for the enterprise business group. He used to run the software and solutions business unit.

The company promoted Francisco Serafini to executive vice president of emerging markets. He was senior vice president and managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. HP bumped Jan Zadak up to Serafini’s old job. Hogan will be Serafini’s boss.

Former VMware executive Richard Geraffo Jr. steps over to HP as senior vice president and managing director for the Americas. In the past, Geraffo also worked at BEA Systems and IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM). Hogan is also Geraffo’s boss.

Doraisamy Balu is stepping down as managing director of HP’s Asia Pacific and Japan operations. Previously, he was managing director of HP India. Piau Phang Foo steps up from managing director of China into Balu’s place. Foo will also report to Hogan.
