Yipit is the latest daily deals contender on the block. The company offers a different experience than sites like Groupon and LivingSocial. Yipit’s shtick is aggregation. This is a tool for those looking for a one-stop shop for daily deals. The company provides listings from over 800 different daily deal sites, including Groupon, LivingSocial, Gilt City, Buy With Me, Yelp and more.

The Yipit app offers users an alternative means of accessing its impressive compilation of daily deals. When users boot up the app, they are asked to join Yipit by providing an e-mail address, so the service can send daily deals. Once users have signed up, they can log into the service and navigate hundreds of daily deals. The app features an easy-to-use interface. Users can browse through deals via lists or use the map to find deals around town. Users can also browse by categories, which is useful. Categories include dining, nightlife, health, retail, activities and more. Further, each category features sub-categories. For instance, under activities, users will find sub-categories like theater and concerts. The variety of different deals on Yipit is impressive.

The Yipit app itself is nicely put together. One of the problems with it, though, has to do with the fact that the service is still young and expanding, and there’s no coverage for many cities. For example, I live in Southern California and my city is not available on Yipit. Instead, I have to use either Los Angeles or Orange County, which are about an hour away. Many of the services that Yipit aggregates, such as Groupon, support my city, but I can’t access them through this app. Kind of disappointing.

These days, there’s a lot of daily deals floating around. For users looking for a convenient way to access as many of those as possible in a convenient yet digestible package, Yipit is a great choice. It’s free, so it’s at least worth experimenting with for any curious shoppers.
