NAVIGON 2.0.1 offers some bug fixes, clarification on FreshMaps

Those looking to hit the road over the holidays may want to get the latest version of NAVIGON for their iPhone. The latest release offers some bug fixes from the major upgrade last month. The update is free to all existing user. Full tweaks with version 2.0.1:

- Resolved initial server connection issues for downloading maps
- Favorites and recent destinations will now appear automatically after application is updated
- Reintroduced the integrated iPod control in response to customer feedback
- Added "select all" option in map manager to download all maps at one time
- Improved VoiceOver support (for visually impaired)
- Further UI refinements

NAVIGON also clarified their FreshMaps in-app purchase option. When it was released, there was some confusion over the description. Essentially this provides quarterly map updates between major app updates for up to two years. Below is the verbiage directly from NAVIGON:

FreshMaps is a premium service that NAVIGON adapted from their successful line of PNDs (personal navigation devices) in Europe, whereby for a fee, users can get the latest maps every three months for a period of at least two years. The introduction of this service into the app was planned prior to Garmin's acquisition of NAVIGON.

Prior to the launch of FreshMaps, free map updates were provided on an irregular basis. In response to customer feedback, we will continue to deliver occasional free map updates in addition to the optional FreshMaps service, which provides more regular and frequent (quarterly) map updates. Note that FreshMaps also upgrades regional versions, such as MyRegion or USA, to the full North American map.
