Fairway Solitaire is an inventive solitaire game that incorporates a golf theme and virtual currency into a familiar card game and turns it into a one-of-a-kind strategic mobile experience. Built in-house by Big Fish Games Studios, Fairway Solitaire takes solitaire and flips it on its head. Unlike most solitaire games, which rely almost exclusively on the luck of the draw, Fairway Solitaire’s golf elements allow the player to employ different strategies at different points in the game. Playing the right golf club with the right Golf Shop power-up can be the difference between a double bogey and a perfect hand/hole-in-one. Extra golf clubs, power-ups, courses and more can also be gained through using Golf Bucks, the game’s virtual currency. Golf Bucks can be earned and purchased, and then employed strategically to help succeed on more than 350 exclusively handcrafted holes for each platform.
Adding to the strategy are unpredictable wild cards, sand traps, water hazards and more. “We spent hours designing, testing, and tweaking each hole for each device," said John Cutter, Lead Designer of Fairway Solitaire. "It's amazing how even small changes, such as card layout, can impact the player's strategic choices.”
