New Travelocity iPad App Gives Travelers Deals, Ability to Book Flights, Hotels and Car Rentals

Celebrates Launch with Twitter Sweepstakes

SOUTHLAKE, Texas--()--Travelocity today announced its new Travelocity App for iPad is now available on the App Store, giving travelers the ability to book flights, hotels and car rentals all in one app. Travelocity for iPad joins the company's existing app for iPhone and iPod touch, as well as devices on Android and Windows Phone 7, giving users access to the best in travel from their favorite device.

The app features hotel deals especially for mobile users in top destinations like Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Francisco. These deals, labeled “Mobile Exclusive Deals,” are rates that are even lower than what is available on the desktop version of Travelocity. They are geared toward the on-the-go traveler and are generally available two days prior to check-in. The Travelocity App automatically identifies the top three deals in the search results with a special "Mobile Exclusive Deal" banner.

“This is not your typical mobile app,” said Carl Sparks, President and CEO, Travelocity Global. “Travelocity for iPad can easily replace your PC to search and book flights, hotels and cars, whether you are sitting on your couch or riding in a taxi. It’s also possible to read user reviews, view maps, filter search results, and track where you’ve been and where you are going.”

To celebrate the launch of the app, Travelocity will be holding a Twitter sweepstakes now through Friday, March 2 with winners receiving a $500 Apple gift card. To enter the sweepstakes, visit www.twitter.com/travelocity. For more information and complete terms and conditions of the sweepstakes, click here.

Additional features of the Travelocity App for iPad include:

• Easy single page check out for flights and hotels

• Access to Top Secret Hotels - unpublished rates that are up to 55 percent off Travelocity’s regular rates for the same top hotels on the same day

• Hi-res color photos of hotels; maps, customer reviews and detailed descriptions of properties

• The ability to view past and future trip itineraries within MyTrips, including details like flight numbers, departure times, and hotel addresses.

The Travelocity App is available for free from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
