Apple Abandons iSlate Trademark

Before we knew it would be called “iPad,” Apple also filed for the “iSlate” trademark around the world:

Apple Will Call It iSlate: Latest Proof (Ironically, that post also links to the currently-disputed iPad trademark in Taiwan, which was filed back in 2000!)

Just as Apple used a beard company for some “iPad” trademark filings (IP Application Development), they used the beard company Slate Computing (USA) LLC for “iSlate” filings.

What links the two companies to Apple is that Slate Computing also holds the “iPad” trademark, confirming this is all Apple behind the beards.

I wondered this morning if Apple would use that “iSlate” trademark, so I went to look at it.

I learned that they abandoned it in October 2011.
