Jailbreak Only: PersistentAssistant - Make Sure Siri Stays Alert During Conversations

June 8, 2012
A new jailbreak tweak called PersistentAssistant ensures that Siri stays alert during conversations, and is now available to download for free in the Cydia Store, according to Redmond Pie. Once downloaded and installed, the tweak promises to ensure that Siri maintains an appropriate level of attention from the moment the service is invoked, to the moment the conversation is forced to end through a further press of the Home button. There are times, as many of our readers will know, when Siri kind of switches off during conversation, and users are required to touch the Siri icon in order to make our digital friend's ears pick up. However, as Redmond Pie notes, PersistentAssistant forces Siri to persist throughout any conversation, until said conversation is terminated by the user:
When the tweak is enabled, Siri will remain functional and alert from the first moment the user invokes the assistant until the time it is dismissed from view or cancelled away by pressing the Home button. In a stock installation of iOS, this isn’t the case, and even after Siri has been called upon, users find themselves having to tap the Siri button every time they want to ask or tell it something.
The tweak adds a new pane in the Settings app, via which it may be enabled or disabled. You can download PersistentAssistant in the Cydia Store for free (via the BigBoss repository) - check out the tweak now, and if it works well for you be sure to drop us a comment below. Source: Redmond Pie
