It's Already Possible To Jailbreak The Second iOS 6 Beta Release Using Redsn0w

June 26, 2012
It's already possible to jailbreak iOS 6 beta 2, according to iDownloadBlog. The process, which can be achieved using redsn0w 0.9.13dev2, requires users to point the application towards the iOS 6 beta 1 IPSW, and provides users with a tethered jailbreak solution for Apple A4-equipped iDevices and below. The method is relatively simple. Here's what you need to do: 1 - Install iOS 6 beta 2 on your developer-registered iDevice. 2 - Place your iDevice in DFU mode. 3 - Download redsn0w 0.9.13dev 2 (for OS X and Windows), and launch the app. 4 - Click "Extras,"  "Select IPSW," and then select the iOS 6 beta 1 firmware file (be sure to select the IPSW for iOS 6 beta 1, and not beta 2). 5 - Now head back to the main screen, and click "Jailbreak." 6 - Finally, once the jailbreak has completed, boot tethered by pointing redsn0w to the iOS 6 beta 1 IPSW. Plus, remember to select this IPSW when performing all subsequent tethered-boots. That's all there is to it! However, please be aware that this jailbreak method does not install Cydia on the iDevice in question, nor does it "hacktivate" the device. Furthermore, unlockers should stay away from updating to iOS 6 and jailbreaking, as the iPhone could be updated to an un-unlockable baseband! Do note that the iPhone Dev-Team released redsn0w 0.9.13dev2 in order to fix SSH issues caused by redsn0w 0.9.13dev1 (which also has the power to jailbreak iOS 6 beta 2-powered iDevices). From the Dev-Team's blog:
Update #1: The “dev2” version should fix the various SSH problems and crashes with apps that some have been seeing.
