Now live: Apple’s FY2012 Q3 earnings call today, July 24 at 2pm PDT

Apple's Q3 earnings will likely be dominated by Retina MacBook Pros and China.

Apple plans to announce earnings for the third fiscal quarter of 2012 on July 24, 2012 at 2pm PDT (5pm EDT). The results will be followed by the typical conference call where Apple executives will delve deeper into the results and answer questions from analysts.

We expect Apple to discuss its new MacBook Air and the Retina MacBook Pro, both of which were introduced to the public last month during WWDC. It will also undoubtedly touch upon the successfully quiet launch of the third-generation iPad in China, which began last Friday (July 20). And, given that the third quarter will be the first full quarter in which the third-generation iPad has been available in the US, we're sure to hear plenty of chest-thumping on the tablet front. Last quarter, Apple saw a 151 percent year-over-year increase in iPad sales from 4.69 million in 2011 to 11.8 million in 2012—what kind of growth will the third quarter bring?

Ars will be doing a liveblog of the earnings call and the fiscal results, so check back on Tuesday to watch and participate in the comments (now with liveblog comment promotion!). The earnings call is scheduled to take place on July 24, 2012 at 2:00pm Pacific Daylight Time (see when the liveblog starts in your own timezone).
