Apple's Surprise? A Tribute To Steve

Apple's big surprise appears to be, not a new product, but a video tribute to Steve Jobs on the first anniversary of his death.

The company's online store had been temporarily closed last night.

Visit Apple.com and you are greeted with a montage of images of Steve with audio of him talking about various Apple products, drawn from his legendary product launches. When the video ends, the site flips to a letter from Tim Cook, his successor as CEO.

The store is now opened again, with no obvious changes, and the company has issued no news releases.
