With iPad Mini and Windows 8, Next Week in Tech Will Be Huge

Major products from Apple, Microsoft, Google and Samsung will all hit next week. See the day-by-day play-by-play.

If you like gadgets, next week will be a nonstop carnival of amazement.

Am I overselling it? Not sure. But it's going to be huge. , too, but for some reason Tuesday to Monday, Oct. 23-29 packs a month's worth of tech events into one seven-day span. Whether you like games or spreadsheets, cameras or phones, there's something here for you. Here's what we expect:

Tuesday, Oct. 23
Early AM: Some big-name games hit virtual shelves. Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Forza Horizon and Persona 4: The Golden should all debut.

1 PM ET: Apple . Those could be a 7.85-inch iPad mini, a 13-inch Macbook with a high-resolution Retina display screen, a new Mac Mini desktop or even a slimmer iMac; we've seen rumors of all of those, and they all fit with Apple's "smaller" theme.

Wednesday, Oct. 24
Evening: The PhotoPlus International Expo in New York starts, so we expect to see some new camera announcements shortly in advance of the show.

7 PM ET: Samsung unveils the various carrier versions of the at an event in New York. Sprint has said its version is going on sale .

Thursday, Oct. 25
10 AM ET: Microsoft formally debuts Windows 8 at a five-hour long event in New York. Yes, it's five hours long. Expect lots of Windows 8 hardware reviews to appear in the days surrounding this event.

Friday, October 26
Windows 8 goes on sale. At least some of those Apple products might be on sale at this point, too. Reviews of various products will be flooding the Webs.

Saturday-Sunday
It's a weekend. Go play with your kids.

Monday, October 29
10 AM ET: Google is having an event in New York with new Android devices. There will probably be at least one new Nexus phone, and there might be a tablet.

1 PM ET: Microsoft debuts Windows Phone 8 at an event in San Francisco. Expect to finally see carrier prices and launch dates for the , , and more. Those phones will probably hit shelves the following week.
