First up, staff writers Christina Bonnington and Roberto Baldwin take a look at the newest 7-inch tablet on the block. Nope, not the iPad mini, the Nook HD, running a custom version of Android. The Nook HD is available now, for $200. We’ll have a full review up very soon.

Next, staff writer Nathan Olivarez-Giles shows us one of the newest Android smartphones on the block, the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The Note II will be available on five different U.S. carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and U.S. Cellular). It has a monstrous 1,280×720 resolution, 5.5-inch display powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. Samsung’s latest is a bit large for our tastes, but for some, the Note II will certainly strike a chord.
