The Griffin Faces Case Gives Your New iPod touch Some Personality

December 24, 2012
If you’re looking for a way to personalize your shiny new iPod touch, Griffin has a great assortment of stylish and protective cases. If stylish isn’t your thing, there’s a cute case that really adds some personality to your device. The Griffin Faces case for the fifth generation iPod touch is cute and customizable. It’s a perfect case for children, or adults who are young at heart. The Faces case includes interchangeable eye and mouth pieces the help you express your fun side. Here's Griffin's description of the case:
Swap out eyes and mouths and create a different look every day or whenever you want. Premium silicone protects your iPod touch from bumps and scratches. So set your creativity free. Insert a mouth (we've packed in three) and an eye (choose from six) and you've got a case that feels like what would happen if Picasso moonlighted animating shows on Cartoon Network.

The Good

This case may not protect your iPod touch better than the Griffin Survivor case, but it does provide decent coverage. It also has an open bottom design to make it compatible with most docks and adapters while covering all of the iPod’s controls. In a nutshell, the Griffin Faces case is fun. It’s a perfect case for kids, but it can be a little difficult to customize.

The Bad

The interchangeable pieces are a little tricky to swap, but once they're in place, everything seems to stay put. If protection is what you’re looking for, I’d stay away from this case. With just a flimsy rubber design, the Faces case won’t protect your iPod touch very much. That being said, I think the purpose of this case is to help you stay foolish. It's also important to note that while this case does have an opening for Apple's Loop accessory, I found it difficult to actually attach it. That may not be a big deal to some people, but if you're in need of a wrist strap, this case may not be for you.

The Verdict

The Griffin Faces case is a great way to keep a little laughter in your life. If you’re a fan of merry mustaches and silly smiles, this mildly protective case will definitely put a grin on your face. Currently, you can pick up the Griffin Faces case in red, blue, pink, or purple for $24.99 on Griffin's website.
