Speed Kills provides players with a new death racing experience in this top-down action title. This game is free to play, but is limited on how far a player can go without investing many hours or a few dollars. Thankfully, players are able to put in a good amount of time by competing in two separate worlds with multiple divisions to win and rise from. Players will also be able to upgrade their first vehicle entirely without the need to purchase additional money. Replay enough and they’ll also have money left over to purchase a new vehicle, but that’s when time starts to become an issue and the need to pay arises.

The good news is that most players will get a great idea of what to expect from this game and will be able to decide whether or not to pour money into it. However, most players will be met with frustrating circumstances that really kills any enjoyment that can be found in this title. On top of that, the gameplay itself lacked a level of excitement and thrill that one would expect to be present in a game full of action racing. What hurts most with the racing aspect of the game is that it feels too spread out (or so it seems) and most races are decided in the opening seconds as to whether or not players get caught up in a multiple vehicle collision, both of which lessen the enjoyment of the game.

Speed Kills still has some promise and can have enjoyable moments for the player with its battle elements and numerous weapons to fire and dodge, but unfortunately, any enjoyment quickly becomes derailed by frustration. Another issue is with the respawns; many times they work well, but at other times they simply don’t and can ruin a good race with one bad placement. I’ve been respawned over a jump which dropped me on the track below leading me to being respawned again. Also, I’ve been respawned with my vehicle driving straight into a wall, and speaking of walls, it’s not easy to break away if you get caught up in one. This doesn’t just happen for the player, but also for the computer as well. I’ve seen an opponent stuck on a wall in almost every race played. The end-time results would show it as well, listing me with a 2 minute time while an opponent finished in 5 minutes.

Speed Kills is unfortunately flawed by a number of issues that need to be worked on to create a much more entertaining experience. Players are given a taste of what could be some truly fun death racing action, but unfortunately that taste quickly becomes sour.
