'Apple have lost their way a bit'

Apple's shares have fallen to their lowest level in 12 months.

Over the last year they have lost the equivalent of a whole Microsoft's worth of value, while Google's shares are trading at a record high.

Rupert Goodwins, a technology journalist, told the Today programme: "In the 18 months since Steve Jobs died, the company hasn't done very much right.

"There have been a lot of missteps, they messed up the mapping product on the iPhone, the new iPads haven't been universally acclaimed as innovative. They've lost their way a bit."

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday, 6 March 2013.
