AT&T introduces $500 50 GB mobile voice and shared data plan

AT&T announced Monday new shared data plans for its mobile customers. The shared plans allow customers to sign on multiple wireless devices under one account and share a common bucket of data. Businesses and some hardcore households may rack up a lot of data usage. For those people, AT&T has announced three new tiers of data on top of the previous 20 GB plans. New are 30, 40, and 50 GB per month.

Pricing with voice service is an extra $100 a pop for each tier, so $300, $400, and $500, respectively. For data-only accounts for tablets and gaming devices the plans run $185, $260, and $335. Users looking for even more data beyond that will run $15/GB. So conceivably this can be a cost savings if users regularly run over the previous high-end 20 GB plan.

Additional devices will run you $45-$30/mo per device on voice plans. For tablet/gaming device it's $10/mo and $20/mo for laptops and netbooks.
