Sim City gets new June 11 release day for Mac

Originally slated for February, EA Games announced the Mac version of the new Sim City is now scheduled for June 11. Considering all the issues with the on-line game, it's shouldn't be too surprising the Mac version was delayed. The Windows version itself was pushed back to March. The release saw massive outages for the game, which requires gamers to be connected to EA's servers to play.

The game will be sold electronically via the company's Origin online marketplace and other online retailers. Those who purchased the PC version on Origin will be able to play the Mac version for no additional cost. Also, gamers can play their saved game on either platform, so no need to restart on the Mac for those playing on Windows.

Sim City features multiplayer gameplay where gamers can work in neighboring cities to compete or collaborate. Decisions made in someone's city will also have repercussions beyond their city.
