Apple App Store Submission Could Give OBJE Access to Multi-Billion-Dollar Growth Market

SARASOTA, Fla.--()--By submitting its debut gaming title, Phantasmic, to the Apple App Store this week, OBJ Enterprises (OTCBB: OBJE) expects to soon gain access to a booming, multi-billion-dollar applications market servicing the world’s growing number of smartphone and tablet users.

According to new data from research firm Canalys, the first three months of 2013 saw the four leading mobile app stores rack up approximately $2.2 billion in revenue, a figure which accounts for paid apps, in-app purchases and subscriptions. That number also represents a nine-percent increase compared to revenue tallied during the first quarter of last year. Total app downloads saw an 11-percent jump over last year to 13.4 billion.

Apple’s App Store remains comfortably at the top of the applications market, accounting for 74 percent of the revenues. That’s why it’s the first platform to which Phantasmic has been submitted for approval. The game is a free-to-play app created by Novalon Games, the developer founded by OBJE’s joint venture with Source Street, and it’s planned to be the first of many submissions from OBJE.

“The App Store is an essential marketplace for products like Phantasmic, and we’re looking forward to developing and submitting more and more games to Apple in order to capture a big piece of that incredible market growth,” said OBJE CEO Paul Watson.

The next step for the company will be pursuing partnerships with indie developers to publish and distribute additional new titles. OBJE has already begun to pursue this new initiative, signing an LOI to help market and develop Bluff Wars, a hot new game created by Texas-based indie developers FangTooth Studios.
