Amazon on Wednesday announced that its Cloud Player music service for iOS is now available in Ford vehicles equipped with the car maker's Sync AppLink in-car infotainment system.

The new tie-in means iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad users can now wirelessly connect to the Amazon MP3 app in their compatible Ford vehicle, and gain access to their entire Cloud Player music library using voice commands or audio controls. Android users have had the same capability since this February.

Ford's Sync AppLink feature lets drivers use voice commands and the buttons on their steering wheel to control mobile apps on their smartphone while driving. Sync AppLink is currently available in vehicles like the 2013 Fiesta, Mustang, Expedition, Fusion, F-150, Super Duty, Focus, E-Series, and C-MAX Hybrid models.

"With Cloud Player for iOS and Ford SYNC AppLink-equipped vehicles Amazon is providing even more ways for customers to play and enjoy their music, anywhere," the Web giant said in a statement.

The free version of Amazon Cloud Player lets users store all MP3s purchased from Amazon, plus up to 250 additional songs from your computer. A $25-per-year subscription provides access to a premium version, which offers room for up to 250,000 songs.

Meanwhile, Ford earlier this year announced a partnership with Rhapsody to bring the on-demand music service to Sync-enabled vehicles. The car maker also launched a new app for the Sync AppLink Platform called BeCouply, which was designed to help drivers plan better dates.
