For the first time since it catapulted into iOS gaming stardom in March last year, Angry Birds Space is available to download for free. That's right. Both Angry Birds Space for iPhone and Angry Birds Space HD for iPad are free to download as of a couple hours ago. But don't expect that free price tag to permanently stick to this Rovio title. Presumably, Angry Birds Space's going free is in line with Apple's Free App of the Week promotion. If this is indeed the case, then the game is downloadable free of charge for the next seven days only. So, if you haven't grabbed and played this game of angry birds and bad piggies in space (which is not to be confused with the space operatic Angry Birds Star Wars), better head on to the App Store now. As mentioned, you can get both Angry Birds Space for iPhone and Angry Birds Space HD for iPad right now in the App Store for free. Some of the popular games that have been featured as Apple's Free App of the Week in the App Store include Infinity Blade, Plants vs. Zombies, and last week's Pudding Monsters. The original Angry Birds itself was promoted as such last March. Incidentally, at the same time the original Angry Birds became Apple's Free App of the Week, Angry Birds Space got its last major update. That update came mainly as a result of Rovio's collaboration with rock musician Slash of Guns N' Roses fame.
