The 2013 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is about to begin, and Apple's developer community is gearing up for a sneak peek at what's coming next in software on and off the desktop. Apple has once again said the focus will be on iOS and OS X, all but guaranteeing an early look at iOS 7 and OS X 10.9 during Monday's keynote.

We’re hoping to learn more about iOS 7’s new features and the purported “flat” design element that has been exciting the Apple community. Apple has also allegedly been pulling engineers from OS X to assist with iOS work, but we will probably get a look at a few new features.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said during the company’s second quarter conference that no new products were to be expected before Q4 2013, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream. Apple could still have a surprise in store—or at least an update to its hardware line. Rumors have been circulating about a refresh to the MacBook Pro line since the announcement of Intel’s new Haswell processors, and we’re also hoping to see an update to the Mac Pro line, as last year the desktop computers only received an incremental processor bump. There are also rumblings about an “iRadio” streaming music service that’s meant to rival services like Google Play Music All Access, Spotify, and Rdio.

What we're not expecting to see are updates to the iPhone or iPad. Apple has been inching those hardware releases away from WWDC in recent years, no doubt in part to keep WWDC from selling out so fast, and also to bring WWDC's main focus back on developers.

We'll find out the answers soon enough, as Ars will be on the scene live at WWDC to bring you the announcements as they happen with text and photos. The whole thing is set to take place at 10am PDT (GMT-7) on Monday, June 10, 2013 (see it in your timezone), so stay tuned for the liveblog!
