Alienware has launched a new range of gaming laptops powered by Intel's Haswell processor.

The Alienware 14, Alienware 17 and Alienware 18, named after their respective screen sizes, feature an angular design with anodised aluminium shells and magnesium alloy bodies.

Each model is powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor and sports an Nvidia GeForce 700 graphics chip, while the Alienware 18 offers Nvidia SLI dual graphics and an overclocked processor with a top speed of 4.3GHz.

All three machines sport HD displays, with the 14-inch model equipped with anti-glare technology and the 17-inch offering optional 3D.

Other hardware features include high bandwidth DDR3L memory for improved battery life, Ethernet technology by Qualcomm's Killer networks and Klipsch speakers backed up by Dolby Home Theater v4 audio.

Users will have a choice of operating system, with Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 8 available as pre-installed options.

The Alienware 14 starts at £1,099, with the prices of the larger models expected to be announced soon.
