Apple's rumoured budget iPhone has a more premium feel to it than Samsung's latest Galaxy devices, according to a report.

Chinese design collective TechDy claims to have obtained the plastic shell of the handset and insists that it has a higher build quality than the likes of the Galaxy S4.

"[The budget iPhone] does not feel cheap at all... unlike the plastic build quality of the Samsung Galaxy phones," the report states.

TechDy have already filled the purported budget iPhone's shell with components and converted it into an Android device, which it is selling through its online store.

Apple is yet to officially confirm the existence of the lower-cost iPhone, but what are claimed to be leaked photographs of the device have been circulating online.

The Cupertino firm is expected to unveil the device alongside the iPhone 5S later this year.
