Path Gets Stickers, iPad Upgrade

Path version 3.1, released this week, now allows users to add cartoon stickers to comments.

Can't find the right words to express your thoughts in a Path message? Try letting Romy the Raccoon or the Android-like monster Xander do it for you.

Path version 3.1, released this week, now allows users to add cartoon stickers to comments.

"Stuck in traffic? A promotion at work? In desperate need of caffeine? Feeling silly, lovestruck, or frazzled? There's a sticker for that," the Path team said in a blog post.

The social network first rolled out its animated creatures in March's 3.0.1 update, offering "expressive and fun" pieces of art to help users communicate when words aren't enough. Path's answer to emoticons, stickers include the cartoon-like rendering of over-caffeination, jealousy, and "big love."

Two free sticker packs come with the app; for more, users must make an in-app purchase.

Aside from expanded decals, Path also announced an update to its iPad application, with improved navigation. Now, landscape mode offers a fully functioning composer button and feed, allowing users to share and view moments however they prefer.

Path is also making it easier to stay in touch with old friends (a refined friends list makes it faster to find and message people), and make new ones. The introduction of a QR code means anyone can send a friend request to a new acquaintance before leaving the party — Just have your new pal scan the code with their smartphone, and you are bound for social media life.

Path 3.1 is available today for free download in the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play.
