RocketU 1144C PCIe card offers 20Gb/sec USB 3.0 upgrade

HighPoint announced the RocketU 1144c, a new USB 3.0 adapter for Macs and Windows PCs. The card boasts a four-port USB 3.0 with USB Attached SCSI (UAS) to deliver faster speeds to higher end USB 3.0 devices. Each port has dedicated bandwidth for up to 5 Gb/second for a total 20 Gb/sec. HighPoint says the configuration maximizes a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot.

Along with faster speeds, the 1144C is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices.

The RocketU 1144C is available now for $109.
