Cobook Contacts 3.0 Features iOS 7-Ready Design, Mailbox-Like Gestures And More

July 31, 2013
Cobook Contacts, the "clean and elegant solution for contact management on your iPhone," has just been updated to version 3.0, nearly eight months after its release. Its new major upgrade introduces several new functions in a neat new interface package. Cobook Contacts 3.0 sports a fresh design that's significantly inspired by iOS 7, complete with flat elements and translucent panels. This design also adds support for swipe gestures seemingly inspired by the popular email app Mailbox. For example, swiping contacts to the right effectively selects them and swiping further to the right brings up quick actions for a single contact. In addition, swiping left quickly calls a contact. The new version of Cobook Contacts also adds support for sorting contacts by date added, updated or last contacted, and for emailing or messaging multiple contacts. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, Cobook Contacts 3.0 is available now in the App Store for free. The new version of this free app also introduces the Cobook Store. The Cobook team explains this new addition:
Many of you have asked us - why is Cobook free? It’s a reasonable concern. Some say - if you don’t pay for the product, you are “the product". We don’t want you to be “the product". Today we are introducing Cobook Store, available via the iPhone app that lets you add extra functionality to Cobook and hide ads.
Currently, there are two items in the Cobook Store, each costing $2.99. One is the Essentials Pack, which removes ads and unlocks the newly added Foursquare and Instagram integration in addition to Twitter integration. And the other is Xing Profiles, which lets you import contact information from the Xing professional network.
